ENERGY MC2 - IF YOU BREAK IT (SOUL JUNCTION) Mint Condition
Two great independent 70’s soul sides from a Detroit outfit who began as the house band at Ernest Burt’s Magic City label. Where they backed the likes of Sweet Geraldine, Mad Dog & The Pups and even released a Magic City 45 of their own under the artist name of The Soulful Hounds entitled “Why Did You Leave Me Girl”. Later they through a family connection became affiliated with Ray Parker Jr of “Ghost Busters” fame.
Under the group name of Energy MC2 they recorded several unissued songs two which now appear for the first time on the new 45, the A-side “If You Break It” is a funky edged dancer that has been championed in recent months by upfront DJ Dave Thorley at his respected Spirit Allnighter events. While the B-side “Other Side Of The Mirror” a sophisticated and slightly jazzy modern soul dancer, has recently begun to turn a few heads.
