‘This Is My Chance’ lay dormant until the 90s, when it was included on the Ace CD “The Heart Of Southern Soul Vol 3”. That series was aimed at ballad fans but Art Gentry’s mid-tempo gem proved ideal for the modern soul dance scene. A 12-inch promo issued at the time is now an in-demand piece of vinyl. Mystery surrounds who wrote Shirley Brown’s ‘Even If The Signs Are Wrong’ but this splendid, lilting soul song deserves a vinyl release.
